I happened to be present, with a camera handy, when the Football Pavilion on the playing fields at Donnington was destroyed by fire.

• Photo 3 The Fire Brigade arrives
• Photo 4 Water on the flames, opening the door
• Photo 5 Getting in needed an axe
• Photo 6 For a while the fire still gained
• Photo 7 Gradually the fire came under control
• Photo 8 This is not as controlled as it seems
• Photo 9 Flames broke out again
• Photo 10 There were fears for the Little Theatre next door
• Photo 11 Eventually the Brigade got the upper hand
• Photo 12 They pulled off the cladding to ge access to the fire inside
